Subject:Modernized KKK = Jack Thompson?
Security:Public
Mood: aggravated

As I was talking to a friend today at lunch over the events that happened at Virginia Tech, the topic came up to Jack Thompson. More commonly known as the public enemy of game developers. There is even a wikipedia article on him.
When the event was first reported, Fox News had an interview with him about the event. Fox News dubbed him the "school shootings expert", WTF!. Anyway, here is the video. Also, the interviewer called him a "specialist". COME ON!
In truth, I expected Jack Thompson to make an appearance at some point, but boy was I surprised by the timing. It would seem that he would go to any extend to associate violent games as the cause for the event. How in the world does he associate the event with video games being the cause before the perpetrator is identified?

Subject:SMP On Java
Security:Public

[info]scottharmon and me talked about SMP capabilities on Java. For some reason, single process (with multi-threads) on the JVM are not capable of utilizing SMP machines fully.
We tried that with multi-threaded code, so we are still wondering how to enable a multi-threaded process to fully utilize the SMP machine.

I did not get the job I was hoping to get. It seems now I am back to square one because that was the only job I could find that could be offered as a RA position.
I must find some assistantship job this semester.
Failure is not an option.
Why do I always place myself into these kinds of situations? It was the same thing when I tried to get a TA job.

This was originally an empty post with no subject.

How was this posted, I have no clue. But I've edited it for something more meaningful than an empty post.
Well, tomorrow's my interview for the CIS sysadmin position.

Subject:Doh! Another Wierd Day
Security:Public

My printer just arrived today at 3:30pm.
So, I unwrap everything and set everything up ... which to my amazement, I DISCOVERED that I had NO USB cable!!!
Fortunately, [info]scottharmon was kind enough to spot me a ride to Staples. He even bought 2 boxes of dvds. I can't remember if they are + or -, for $10.
